Kingland Systems Achieves CMMI Rating for Organizational Process Management

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Kingland Systems, a premier provider of financial services software and data solutions, announced today that it has been rated as a Capability Maturity Model Integrated® (CMMI) Maturity Level 2 organization.

CMMI is a process improvement approach defined by the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (SEI) that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their project performance and product reliability. CMMI is used to guide process improvement across an organization. It helps prioritize process management goals to achieve high process maturity, providing guidance for quality processes, and provides a point of reference for appraising current processes.

“This achievement is the first step in our multi-year strategy to improve our project management and software development processes,” says David Kingland, President and CEO of Kingland Systems Corporation. “Sound, well defined, metric-driven processes improve our ability to take on increasingly complex projects for our clients, with less risk. We are delighted that our investment in process improvement has been validated by the results of this appraisal and we look forward to continued work in achieving a high Maturity rating” says Kingland.

Jeff Gorball, who has led the process improvement effort adds, “This has been the culmination of thousands of hours of work across our staff and is representative of how serious we take delivering the best service to our customers. Independent of the rating, we’ve seen measurable improvement in project performance. Our staff is pleased with this achievement and is eager to continue process development and improvement work.”
